OEM & Custom Ceramic Giftware: From Sample to Shipment
The custom ceramic journey explained: design brief, sampling, approvals, mass production and delivery - and how to plan your first OEM order.

Custom ceramic giftware is where a product line becomes your product line: your patterns, your message, your packaging. The journey from an idea to a shipped carton follows a proven path, and knowing its stages helps brands plan realistic timelines and budgets.
OEM and ODM explained
In OEM (original equipment manufacturing), you bring the design and we manufacture it under your brand. In ODM (original design manufacturing), you start from a design we develop and adapt it for your market. In ceramic giftware the two often mix: a customer adapts an existing mug shape with a new decoration, or develops a fully new pattern from a brief.
Step one: the design brief
Everything begins with a clear brief: what the item is, who it is for, and how it will be sold. Our in-house design team works through a structured development lifecycle - Planning, Approval, Implementation, Analysis and Verification - which keeps each creative decision tied to a manufacturing reality: kiln behaviour, glaze palette, packaging and freight.
Step two: sampling and approval
The sample is the hinge of a custom order. It is where decoration, glaze colour and shape meet for the first time as a physical piece. Buyers should approve the sample against the original brief - dimensions, finish, print quality and packing - because the approved sample becomes the reference for mass production.
Step three: production and quality gates
Once production starts, quality control runs through the line: incoming material checks, in-process checks and finished-goods inspection, managed by dedicated IQC, IPQC and FQC teams under a system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. For giftware, the finished-goods gate matters twice over, because the box is part of the product experience.
Seasonal programs and character collections
Most custom giftware programs are calendar-driven. We produce seasonal collections including Christmas and Valentine’s Day lines and custom character series, alongside year-round daily-use tableware - which means a supplier can support both your spring tableware range and your winter gift range from one relationship. Our design team launches over 80 new products annually to keep those programs fresh.
Planning your first custom order
Bring four things to the first conversation: your target market and price positioning, reference images or designs, the quantity you are considering, and your packaging expectations. With over 20 years of ceramic manufacturing experience since 2004, we are comfortable developing from a rough idea or a finished artwork file. Contact us to start your first custom program.
The approved sample is the contract: everything after it is repetition done well.
